Project Description
For our Senior Design project, Rachel Druffel-Rodriguez, Alfred Tipon III, and Melissa Abe designed a secondary wastewater treatment plant in the city of Roseville, CA. We started this project in January 2012, and completed the final design and presentation on April 27,2012. We designed all of the units upstream of the tertiary treatment, including preliminary, primary, secondary and sludge handling facilities. The process for our design consisted of many calculations and iterations while considering the alternatives in the design of the wastewater treatment plant. We chose our final design recommendation based on the best fit for the site area. The site layout, calculations, environmental evaluation, and preliminary cost estimates were all performed by Rachel, Alfred, and Melissa, and are also included within this report ( which can be found in the Files section). This design project will show that we have considered the most economic and optimal design for a Secondary Wastewater Reclamation Plant built for the Cities of Roseville and Rocklin, CA.
